Sagittarius - Life Goals
by Guru Rattana, Ph.D. - Issue #8, November 29, 1999
One of the goals of this newsletter is help us work with the universal energies that "work with us" every day. As we recognize these energies, accept their challenges and gifts, and integrate their powers into our being and daily lives, we feel more and more empowered and less and less like a victim. One of our New Millennium Sisters generously shared some of her experiences while the Sun was in Scorpio. I would like to share some of her words with you, add some comments and give some suggestions for this month's meditation.
"I just wanted to let you know how right you were about Scorpio. I usually read your astrology reports as soon as I get them, but I didn't for Scorpio. I wish I had, it might have prepared me for what was coming down the pike.
"I moved into the sadness and grieving stage. I'm talking TREMENDOUS sadness and TREMENDOUS grief. I was on the verge of tears all month, and still am now, but to a lesser extent. There were so many things I was sad and grieving about too, layers and layers. They just kept coming and coming.
"To compound it all, my dreams were pretty intense too. In my dreams I met the shadow of the healer, and he is I. I had done some peripheral shadow work before, but now it seems I'm going into another level of it.
"When I had time about 10 days ago to read your report on Scorpio, I was, needless to say, astounded and stunned. Looks like I worked the energies pretty good :)".
(Two days after the Sun moved into Sagittarius) "The shadow energy has moved on, but I'm left quite agitated by it all. I can't seem to concentrate on my books and now I'm pretty much grumpy all the time. Just in time to play Scrooge for Christmas!! Don't know what to make of that just yet, but it feels that beneath the sadness and grieving I've uncovered some deep-rooted anger that needs venting in a healthful way, which is a pretty new concept for me.
"I didn't do the meditation for Scorpio but plan on doing it for Sag! Thank you!"
This is such a great Scorpio and Sagittarius story. I am sure you recognize the Scorpio pain and sadness. But I also wanted to warn you about the dark side of Sagittarius anger. Sagittarius is a fire sign. Fire signs often have very deep anger issues, and they are indeed restless.
Anger is fire energy. Fire energy is navel energy. Navel energy is action energy. The more we use this energy to take action for ourselves the less the energy is used for repressed or misdirected hostility.
Has anyone else ever noticed that when you are doing what you want to do, feel like you are accomplishing something useful and experience productive results, you don't feel as angry, resentful or irritated?
The energy of Sagittarius is about finding what YOU want to do with your life and directing your life energies toward these goals. This month from November 22 to December 20, Sagittarius is supporting you in getting clarity about your life's purpose. If you have no idea and need guidance ASK FOR CLARITY. And then allow yourself to be open enough to listen to your intuition and to recognize messages in your daily life. The energy of Scorpio attempted to clean us out enough so we would be able to listen, observe and tune into our destiny path.
Remember we only have through Dec. 20. After that the Sun moves on to Capricorn. The Earth energy of Capricorn supports us in accomplishing our goals. Capricorn can be depressing energy if we don't know what we are doing. To avoid the drudgery of doing what you don't want to do, set some realistic goals while the Sun shines in Sagittarius. It is easier to get some place, if you know where you are going.
Enjoy the freeing and expansive energy of Sagittarius. It will be time to get to work when the Sun moves into Capricorn.
Sagittarius Meditation
I want to clarify the END of the Kundalini Yoga meditation that I gave in Issue 7. The tiger claws are done with the elbows bent, forearms and hands facing forward and fingers bent like making claws.
It can be difficult to hold the position of this meditation for 11 minutes. If you experience difficulty, do it for 2-3 minutes and work up to 11 minutes. Or do it for a few minutes, bring your hands down and then continue until you complete the 11 minutes. (11 total even with hands down). Even a few minutes of this meditation are very effective. And the effects of 11 minutes are even better!! Concentrate at the third eye for a few minutes after completing the meditation. This is the time you will reap the benefits of your efforts, be able to tune in and possibly get some information. So take advantage of these precious moments and enjoy them.
Third Eye Meditation
There is another Kundalini Yoga meditation technique to open the third eye I would like to share. This is an easy one. Sit with a straight spine, hands resting on the knees, thumb and forefinger touching. Front teeth are together. Tongue touches the roof of the mouth. Eyes look at the tip of the nose with eyes 1/10 open. Feel the presence of the energy at the third eye. Looking at the tip of the nose activates the third eye. Inhale and exhale slowly, mentally repeating SA TA NA MA on both the inhale and the exhale. You can also internally chant SA TA NA MA SA TA NA MA on both the inhale and the exhale. Do for at least 11 minutes. 31 one minutes is recommended.
